Blogfest #2: Horse Freak!

The thing everyone who loves horses dreams of is owning a horse. I’ve always loved horses, and I’ve begged my mum to buy me a horse since I was five. As I got older, I realised that it wouldn’t be possible to get a horse. I knew nothing about horses, and it was way too expensive.

So I started begging my mum for riding lessons. My mum is a gardener, and she works at very big houses. One day she was at someone’s house and she told them how mad I am about horses. Their daughter helped out at a riding school, and she gave us the number.

I took two lessons and loved it! I fell in love with the pony I rode, and at last I could ride. I took lessons every other week. I just kept getting even more mad about horses! Everything I did involved horses. There were girls in my year who loved horses, but no one loved them as much as me.

I began to get teased because I was so horse mad. I got the nickname ‘The Horse Freak’ from girls I thought were my friends. My friends who had loved horses with me started telling me they were boring. And that was when I was 11.

Now I am in secondary school. There are loads of people who own horses so I don’t feel like the odd one out anymore. Not much anyway. I still don’t have anyone that really loves horses who will talk to me about them non-stop.

I have been working on my dream of owning a horse for the last two years (I’ve never stopped dreaming!). I have been taking extra riding lessons, and going to Own a Pony Days to learn more about pony care. I’m gradually getting closer to my dream. Who knows what the future will bring?

  2. How I wish I can be your friend in real life! I have so much horse-craziness to be released and no one to share it with. It is one beautiful horse dream you’re living, and expressed through a brilliant blog. Keep up writing and good luck with your own horse in the near future.

  3. My life is like that too. Everyone says I’m crazy and that horses are boring. Good luck with owning a horse in the future!

  4. I know how you feel about no one loving horses as much as you do. I have that same problem. No one in my school even wants to be around horses as much as I do. Keep Living your dreams, Horse Freak!
