In Virginia, a small farm is nestled in the hills. This is Dream Catcher Farm Horse Sanctuary, a non-profit organization that is rescues neglected, injured, and senior horses that otherwise would be destined for the slaughterhouse.

Perhaps their most revolting rescue was Lucky, who spent three years in a stall prison. His hooves had grown to fourteen inches, and his mane and tail were to the ground from three years without a trim.

Dream Catcher Farm is running low on funds, and I realize most of my fellow horse lovers are young and can’t give the funds needed, but you can e-mail Dream Catcher with your fundraising suggestions. The e-mail address is: The address is:

Dream Catcher Farm-Horse Sanctuary
495 Adam Perry Road
Rocky Mount, VA 24151

Please, for the sake of Rita, Lucky, Jackson, Bubbie and other horses just like them, at least send a fundraiser suggestion. You know, it’s up to us to help these sanctuaries help horses. I know my horse girls have a voice, so let’s hear it! E-mail your suggestions and I know the horses will thank you.
