Hello, my GHC writers. A horribly amazing thing has been going on in the writing world and, knowing me, I had to bring some horses into it. It has been taking away all free time and social life from it’s participants. Do you know what I’m talking about? NaNoWriMo! This is a challenge to write a novel in a month. Some of my favorite authors wrote books through it, like Jessica Burkhart. Are any of you taking part in this challenge?

So far I have written 15,000 words, half of my goal of 30,000. My story is, of course, about a girl and how she learns to live without her parents, who died on her eleventh birthday. After all she has accomplished, eleven years later she has the chance to go back and try to save her family. But will she risk her life, her new family, and all she has learned? I guess we will all see by the time I’m finished.

Hope to see y’all on the NaNo forums! Gotta go write!

  1. Sounds like and amazing story! I’m not doing it this year because of school, sports, ect. But I’m looking forward to doing it next year!

  2. You came up with a brilliant storyline. I love how there is so much room for character growth and excitement in it. Once again I’m so impressed that you’re connecting with such a meaningful idea at a young age – and I haven’t even read anything you wrote yet! Good luck with the rest of your story :)

  3. I love NaNoWriMo! I participated last year and only got about 22k, but this year I’m just over 25 k already, and I’m behind because I didn’t write at all yesterday. But I will catch up! Mine isn’t centered around horses, but since it’s a medieval fantasy setting, they all travel by horseback, and so there’s bound to be horses appearing.

Your story line sounds fantastic! Good luck getting to your goal!

  4. Man, I want so badly to take part in this. But, I know I just don’t have enough time between school and work. But good luck to all of y’all, and who knows, maybe next time I can (:
