Any of y’all have a hankering for a few sweets? How about your horses? Well I would like to share a few yummy recipes with you. I have personally tried them out on my horsey friends and they give it 4 hooves! Oh, and just be sure that your parents or siblings know that the treats are for horses, not people. My grandmother loves cookies, so one day when she took one out of the fridge she received a surprise! She told me I might have a bad batch, and then I howled out laughing that they were for the horses! So just keep that in mind y’all.

OATMEAL MOLASSES COOKIE

2 cups brown-sugar oatmeal (dry)
1/2 cup grated carrots
3 tablespoons molasses
1/2 cup brown sugar

Preheat oven to 365 degrees. Combine all these ingredients. Add enough water to make into soft dough. Stir well. Bake until golden brown and crisp. Let them set out for a couple hours to harden, then give them to your best equine friend!

PEPPERMINT COOKIES

1 cup oatmeal
1 cup flour
1/2 cup wheat germ oil
1 cup water
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 apple, peeled
2 large carrots, finely chopped
2/3 cup dark molasses
10 peppermints, crushed

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix ingredients thoroughly in a large bowl, and bake until crispy and dry. Horses love ’em and so do humans; if you’re willing to try them!
