What a Cowgirl Is

This is what I think a cowgirl is made of…

A cowgirl is sweet, stubborn and when she gets an idea in her head there is no getting it out of her head. A cowgirl is kind, but firm to her horse and other pets. She loves her pets like family. (Because they are family.)

As a example, when I first started I was riding an extremely stubborn Quarter Horse. Her name was Peanut. One day she decided that she was in charge and every time I came to a particular corner she would stop and walk over to graze. Coming from a canter, that’s quite uncomfortable. At one point I was in tears. I stayed at it and got to the point where she would go by without the flick of an ear. I am stubborn as a muleĀ (just ask mom!) and, at that minute, so was my horse.

A cowgirl will stick to the saddle in hard times and stay by her horse when she is sick or hurt.

I don’t have a horse — Peanut was a lesson horse that I rode for two years of lessons. I loved Peanut like my own horse. We recently bought some property and I will get a horse.

I hope that I can be an ideal horse owner and cowgirl!

I’m always excited whenever someone’s getting a horse because sometimes pretend that I will get a horse also. But that’s only my imagination, so pity me. Pity me.

  14. Athena Christy,
well I don’t know what kind of horse I am going to get but I want a quarter horse. My dream horse though is a black appaloosa with white spots one his hindquarters. His name would be Midnight or Magic (I cant decide!). I want a gelding or a mare I cant decide on that either. You will read more from me. At this moment I am thinking up a story.
